What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing refers to the on-demand availability of computing resources – such as applications, virtual machines and storage – over the internet. Cloud services are often enabled by the sharing of resources in order to achieve economies of scale. Cloud resources are typically provided on a subscription or 'pay as you go' model. Providers such as Microsoft Azure and AWS offer a range of Cloud Services on demand. Businesses increasingly utilise cloud computing services as a more flexible alternative to traditional 'on-premise' solutions, such as physical servers, datacentres and networks.
