What is Product Information Management?

Product Information Management refers to the process of managing information about the products that a business sells or manufactures, usually with the intention to use that data to sell or promote the products through multiple digital channels. It can be considered a subset of Master Data Management that focuses exclusively on Product Data, with an emphasis on the data needed to sell and market the product. Product Information Management is often enabled by specialist PIM technology solutions, many of which are also capable of supporting broader Master Data Management initiatives.
