Data Engineer
Location: UK Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
As a Data Engineer at Amplifi, you will be responsible for designing and developing data integration solutions for Amplifi’s clients, using Microsoft Fabric and other technologies. You will work closely with data analysts, solution architects, data architects and other stakeholders to ensure that Amplifi delivered solutions meet the client needs and are in alignment with industry best practices. Your expertise in data engineering, data integration and the Microsoft technology stack will be crucial in delivering successful data integration solutions to Amplifi clients. The role is primarily client facing, but with a responsibility to contribute knowledge and experience gained from implementation projects to the Amplifi body of knowledge, in order to build collateral for re-use in future implementations.

THE ROLE:
As a Data Engineer at Amplifi, you will be responsible for designing and developing data integration solutions for Amplifi’s clients, using Microsoft Fabric and other technologies. You will work closely with data analysts, solution architects, data architects and other stakeholders to ensure that Amplifi delivered solutions meet the client needs and are in alignment with industry best practices. Your expertise in data engineering, data integration and the Microsoft technology stack will be crucial in delivering successful data integration solutions to Amplifi clients.

WHAT YOU'LL BE GETTING UP TO:
Design and Development:
- Design and implement robust data ingestion pipelines to populate data lake/ lakehouse/ warehouse solutions
- Design and implement data transformation pipelines within the data warehouse
- Design and implement data delivery solutions, making data from lake/ lakehouse/ warehouse available to the people and applications that need it (e.g. Data Scientists, Data Analysts, APIs, AI Apps)
- Optimize performance and scalability of data pipelines
- Produce designs which help ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the data landscape.
- Create design documentation which can be shared with and signed off by the client.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with data analysts, data architects, solution architects and client stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data integration solutions.
- Collaborate with Amplifi technology experts and client IT teams to ensure seamless deployment processes.
Data Governance:
- Work with Amplifi stakeholders to ensure data models, mappings and lineage associated with data pipelines are captured and documented in industry standard tools such as Microsoft Purview
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data integration and engineering technologies, particularly on the Microsoft stack, and reflect this in your solution designs.
- Participate in design reviews, collaborating with members of the Amplifi and client teams to ensure robust end to end data ecosystem design.
THE ROLE WILL BE A GREAT FIT IF:
You have some of the below:
Education & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with hands-on experience in designing and managing data integrations and pipelines.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Data Factory, Synapse or similar data platforms.
- Microsoft certifications in the field of Data Engineering (Ideally DP-203 certification).
Technical Skills:
- Experience in ETL and Data Integration technologies (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Talend, AbInitio)
- Python (or similar programming) skills
- Experience in SQL and database design principles.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, particularly in relation to data integration.
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Experience:
- Data integration technologies such as Denodo (or other virtualisation), Kafka (or other streaming).
- Knowledge of data, analytics and AI tools in general, particularly those on the Microsoft stack.
