Matt "Hambo" Hampson is a former Leicester Tigers and England rugby player who was paralysed during training in 2005.
In 2011, he established the Matt Hampson Foundation to inspire and support people seriously injured through sport. Since then, the foundation has gone on to open the Get Busy Living rehab centre in Leicestershire with the support of many individuals and companies, including Comma.
Due to his dedication to the foundation, Hambo was recognised in the Queen's 2021 New Year Honours with an OBE.
"This was a complete shock and I’m blown away to be recognised in this way" said Matt. "After my injury I just decided to get busy living and focus on the positives in life. I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved with the Foundation over the past ten years and the amount of people we have helped to rebuild their lives following serious injury".
You can read more about Matt's OBE and the Matt Hampson Foundation on their website.
