Measuring Performance Data
Nowadays you can monitor every aspect of your physical health, why wouldn't you do the same with your data? Our Managing Director EMEA Stuart Squires investigates...
I turned 40 this year. And like many people, it was a trigger to try something new (a.k.a. have a mid-life crisis). For me, it was upping my fitness game and really pushing my (ageing) body to its endurance limit. The ‘big ones’ included a 200 mile coast to coast cycle (off road); a marathon distance obstacle course race (including a run across the sea/quicksand of Morecambe bay and a swim in Windermere), and cycling/running/kayaking 110 miles coast to coast across the Scottish Highlands along Loch Ness.
As each new challenge was completed, I felt pride, but also pain! It wasn’t like this in the old days, I thought. But as I glanced at my watch to see how many calories I’d sweated out, how many miles I’d pounded, I realised I wasn’t just talking about my physical limitations – I was talking about my entire exercise experience.
