2. OMG® joins the family
There was also an announcement of the acquisition of the Object Management Group® (OMG®), the open membership, not-for-profit technology consortium. This broadens the Group’s membership and firms up the technology side of "People, Process, Technology" for the EDM Association, and elevates its global presence which now incorporates more than 700 corporate and public-sector organisations internationally.
3. Goodbye Council, Hello Association
Finally, the Council has now become an Association. To me this better reflects the collaborative nature of the organisation and the work they do as a member-driven trade association. You can learn more about EDM Association and their Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM®) here.
The highlight of the day, as with any of these events, was listening to how organisations are putting theory into action. Conversations on and offstage ranged from effectively deploying and managing Data Products to truly valuing data as an asset and reflecting it in the value of companies.
All in all, we left with plenty of insight, and a hefty dose of inspiration.
As a global DCAM® Authorised Partner, Amplifi combine our years of experience in developing and delivering data strategies with the EDM Association’s tried and tested independent framework that measures your data capabilities and outlines the key areas you need to evolve.
DCAM® has multiple benefits and empowers organisations to truly benchmark their current state to identify how best to reach an outcome that shows measurable improvement.
